單數(shù)復(fù)數(shù)都可以，一般情況下，后面跟復(fù)數(shù)形式的名詞：The rest of the eggs have gone bad.其余的雞蛋都變質(zhì)了。特殊情況：后面有的是單復(fù)數(shù)通行的名詞，因此有時(shí)顯示的是單數(shù)，但表達(dá)的意思是復(fù)數(shù)。還有一種情況就是后面的是一個(gè)表示整體的名詞：例如：身體，那這時(shí)就是單數(shù)的。

the rest of 的用法

the rest of 是一個(gè)名詞詞組，與代詞和名詞一起使用，如：

the rest of us/ them/ you the rest of the students/ water

當(dāng)the rest of...在句中作主語時(shí)，其謂語動(dòng)詞的數(shù)要與其后的名詞的數(shù)保持一致。如：

Wher are the rest of the kids?

Wher is the rest of the food?

the rest的用法

the rest中文含義有剩下的；其余；其余的。

1、如果the rest指代的或者形容的物體是復(fù)數(shù)，那么后面的謂語就應(yīng)該使用復(fù)數(shù)形式。

例如：Two thirds of the students will go home during the summer vacation and the rest are going to travel.

三分之二的學(xué)生在暑假的時(shí)候會(huì)回家，剩下的打算去旅游。

The rest of the group shouldered their bags, gritted their teeth and set off

那群人中其余的人扛起包，咬著牙出發(fā)了。

2、如果the rest 指代的或者形容的物體是單數(shù)或者不可數(shù)名詞，那么后面的謂語就應(yīng)該使用三人稱單數(shù)形式。

例如：We met at college, the rest is history.

我們是在上大學(xué)時(shí)認(rèn)識(shí)的，接下來的事大家都知道了。

Most water was sent to wash the car and the rest was used to drink.

大部分水被送去洗車了，剩下的用來喝。
