當(dāng)連接兩個(gè)并列成份時(shí)，不能用and，而用or。如，Are a teacher or a doctor?Do you like Chinese or English？在陳述句中用and，如I can sing and dance.or用在選擇疑問(wèn)句中，意為“或者，還是”。and不可用于疑問(wèn)句。Is he a doctor or a teacher？他是醫(yī)生還是教師？

And的用法

一.and有這么一個(gè)用法，and前后的兩部分表示同時(shí)發(fā)生的動(dòng)作的，或者是同時(shí)存在的屬性、特征等的時(shí)候，這時(shí)候它的意思就需要進(jìn)行轉(zhuǎn)換了，可以譯為‘又...又...’，‘既...又...’，‘一方面...，一方面’，‘而’等。

這一類(lèi)的是這樣使用的，例如：

If a body is acted upon by a number of forces and still remains motionless, the body is said to be in equilibrium。

The process of oxidation in human body gives off heat slowly and regularly。

二.and還有一種用法，與上一個(gè)用法類(lèi)似，但還是有很大的不同的，在and前后的兩部分，有時(shí)在表示不能同時(shí)并存的事物或是動(dòng)作的時(shí)候。這時(shí)候的and所表達(dá)的意思是‘或’。

這一類(lèi)的使用，例如：

The whole equipment can be assembled and dismantled in a matter of hours。

三.在and的使用過(guò)程中還有這么一種情況，表因果關(guān)系時(shí)，and前面的部分表示原因或條件，后面的部分表示結(jié)果，在這里面的and相當(dāng)于so that，可以把它翻譯為‘因此’，‘所以’，‘從而’等等。

使用的時(shí)候像這樣的，例如：

Sound is carried by air, and without air there can be no sound。

After firing the torpedoes the forward part would lose weight and the submarine would be out of balance。
