more and more表示原來越怎么樣，一般是修飾多音節(jié)單詞的和名詞。表示的是一種動態(tài)。例如：more and more beautiful ，越來越美麗。名詞例如：more and more people，越來越多的人。但是單音節(jié)表示越來越的意思就在后面直接加er，不需要more。

more用法

一、副詞，與某些雙音節(jié)或多音節(jié)的形容詞、副詞一起構(gòu)成其比較級。

1、I think our city is more beautiful than yours．

我認為我們的城市比你們的更美麗。

2、Han Mei studies more carefully than Wang Fang．

韓梅比王芳學習更認真。

二、單獨作為manymuch的比較級,為形容詞,表“更多……”。

1、A big truck is carrying more oranges than that one．（many的比較級）

這輛大卡車比那輛裝的桔子多。

2、Is there more water in the yellow glass than that in the green one?（much的比較級）

那黃杯里的水比綠杯里的多嗎?

三、常放在數(shù)詞或some，any等后面，表“更多、額外數(shù)量”，相當于形容詞，其后往往省略名詞。

1、There’re only two books．We’ll need one more．

那兒只有兩本書，我們還需要一本。

2、—Would you like some more?

你還要吃一些嗎?

—No,thanks．I’m full．

不，我飽了。

四、not…any moreno more表“不再”。

1、The baby can’t eat any more．這個嬰兒再也吃不下去了。

2、Jim and his family went to England．We saw them no more．

吉姆和家人去英國了，我們再也沒有看到他們。

五、more and more用在名詞前，表“越來越多”，用來修飾形容詞、副詞（雙音節(jié)或多音節(jié)）時，表“越來越……”。

1、There are more and more books in the library．

圖書館里的書越來越多了。

2、English is becoming more and more important．We must work hard at it．

英語變得越來越重要了，我們必須努力學好它。
