another意思是又一；再一；另一(事物或人)；另一；不同的(人或事物)；類似的(人或事物)，強(qiáng)調(diào)指不定數(shù)目中的“另一個(gè)”。the other的意思是他者；另一個(gè)；其他，強(qiáng)調(diào)指兩個(gè)人或兩樣事物中的“另一個(gè)”。

the other和another的用法不同

1.another：another用作形容詞的基本意思是“(又)另一個(gè)的”，主要指同類中又多一(個(gè))的或與前述不同的另一個(gè)的，在句中只用作定語。another后常接單數(shù)可數(shù)名詞，但當(dāng)復(fù)數(shù)名詞前有基數(shù)詞或few時(shí)，也可用another修飾。

2.the other：指特定的某人或某物之外的“另一個(gè)”“剩下的”。用在the或形容詞性物主代詞之后時(shí)，與單數(shù)名詞連用表示“(兩個(gè)中的)另一個(gè)”， 與復(fù)數(shù)名詞連用表示某一集體中“其余的，剩下的(人或物)”。
