neither nor表示既不……也不，either or表示或者……或者。這倆個詞組的根本區(qū)別就是either(二者中的任意一者)和neither(二者都不)的區(qū)別。

意思不同

either nor：不是……也不是……

She didn't come on the 9 ∶ 18 either, nor on the 9.她也沒乘9點(diǎn)18分的那趟車來，9點(diǎn)40分的車上也沒她。

neither nor：既不……也不；兩者都不；均不。

Their house is neither big nor small. 他們的房子不大也不小。

用法和結(jié)構(gòu)不同

either or

either or用于肯定句，表示兩者之中“…或…”，選其中之一，either or連接名詞、代詞作主語時，謂語動詞要與最鄰近的主語保持一致。

He either resigned or was sacked, depending on who you talk to. 他或是辭職了，或是被辭退了，這要看你跟誰講了。

I do not feel your actions were either appropriate or done in good taste. 我認(rèn)為你的行為既不妥當(dāng)又不合時宜。

neither nor

neither nor連接名詞、代詞作主語時，謂語動詞須與nor之后的名詞保持一致，表示“既不…也不…”。

They can neither read nor write, nor can they comprehend such concepts. 他們不會讀，不會寫，也理解不了這樣的概念。

That, if you'll pardon my saying so, is neither here nor there. 恕我直言，那根本就不重要。

neither nor和either or的不同之處

neither nor和either or第一個區(qū)別是意思不同。neither nor表示“既不...也不...”，其含義是否定的，可連接任意兩個并列的成分。either or意為“或者...或者...；不是...就是...”，表示兩者之一，連接句子中兩個并列的成分。

其次是動詞謂語就近原則用法不同。neither nor和either or連接兩個主語時，其謂語動詞應(yīng)與最近的一個主語，在人稱和數(shù)上保持一致。neither...nor表示兩者都不。例如，Neither you nor I am good students.你和我都不是好學(xué)生。either...or表示兩者中有一個，要么...要么。例如，Either you or I am good students.要么你是好學(xué)生，要么我的好學(xué)生。

這兩個詞組的根本區(qū)別，其實(shí)就是“二者中都不”，和“二者中的任意一者”的區(qū)別，不能混淆使用。
