英語中比較級前一般不加定冠詞the，但是當要特指兩者中“較(更)…”時，比較級前通常要帶定冠詞the，此時可視為比較級后省略了有關(guān)的名詞或代詞one，即定冠詞實為修飾被省略的名詞或代詞one。

比較級前面什么時候加the

以下句型中，比較級前須加the：

1、用于“the+比較級，the+比較級”，表示“越…越…”

如：The more, the better.越多越好

The sooner, the better. 越快越好。

The more dangerous it is, the more I like it. 事情越是危險我越喜歡。

The more you eat, the fatter you will be.

2、the +比較級+of the two.......句型

He is the cleverer of the two brothers.

Of the two brothers, He is the cleverer.

(of the two 也可置于句首）

3、the +比較級+名詞，即：比較級修飾名詞作定語時

Which is the larger city, Beijing or NewYork?

Which is larger, Beijing or NewYork?

4、當by far用于修飾比較級且置于其前時，比較級前要用the

He’s by far the cleverer student. 他是個聰明得多的學生。
It’s by far the quicker to go by train. 乘火車要快得多。

5、在比較級前用the表示程度(通常有表示原因、理由或條件的短語或從句)

如：I feel the better for my walk. 散了一下步我覺得舒服多了。
I love him all the more for his faults. 正因為他這些缺點，所以我越發(fā)愛他。
