on 在……上面，in 指大的時間和大的地點，與on的區(qū)別很明顯。under相對以上簡單些，在……下面，注意反義詞是over。三種介詞在用法上要注意區(qū)分。

on的用法歸納

1、表示主動意義的情況： （1）on 的后面接非動作名詞或不及物意義的動作名詞，如： The student on duty come to the classroom very early this morning. 值日的那個學(xué)生今天一早就來到了教室。 The workers were on strike. 工人們在罷工。 （2）on 后面接動名詞時，常作狀語，相當(dāng)于 as soon as…引導(dǎo)的時間狀語從句，如： On reading the letter(= As soon as he read the letter), he found that a servant of the family in France had been put in prison, though no fault of his own. 一看完信，他就知道他法國家里的一個仆人無辜地被關(guān)進了監(jiān)獄。 On his arrival in Paris(= When he arrived in Paris), he was recognized as a noble and thrown into prison. 他一到達巴黎，立即被人認為是貴族，因而被投進了監(jiān)獄。（3）on + the + 動詞轉(zhuǎn)化來的名詞，表示一個正在進行的動作。如： Keep the kettle on the boil.(= boiling) 讓壺里的水開著。

2、表示被動意義的情況 on 后面接具有及物意義的動作名詞時，通常表示被動意義。如： Color TV sets are on sale here. 這里在出售彩電。 The flowers on show are from the public garden. 正在展出的那些花是從公園里運來的。
