otherwise 表示“否則”“要不然”時(shí)，其后的句子是否用虛擬語氣，與句子所表達(dá)的意思有關(guān)。由于“否則”“要不然”的意思就是“如果不……就……”，它隱含一種條件在里面，所以，如果根據(jù)句意，其中的“條件”是真實(shí)的，就用陳述語氣;如果其中的“條件”是不真實(shí)的，就用虛擬語氣。

otherwise的虛擬語氣用法

otherwise引導(dǎo)的短語或句子有時(shí)相當(dāng)于一個(gè)虛擬條件句。假設(shè)的情況并不以條件從句表示出來,而是暗含在上下文中,通過介詞短語來表示。
