able是形容詞,意思是“能、有能力的”，able還是一個(gè)功能就是做動(dòng)詞或名詞的后綴,很多動(dòng)詞或名詞加上able后就變成一個(gè)形容詞。

1.adjustable adj.可調(diào)節(jié)的

The lamp on my desk is adjustable.我書桌上的臺(tái)燈是可以調(diào)節(jié)的。

2.exchangeable adj.可交換的；可兌換的

U.S dollar is one of the exchangeable currencies in the orld money market. 美元是國際金融

市場上可兌換貨幣之一。

3.classifiable adj.可分類的

Not all the books are classifiable by subjects. 并非所有的書籍都能按照科目來分類。

4.movable adj.可移動(dòng)的；活動(dòng)的

My son wants some toy soldiers with movable arms and legs.我兒子要一些手腳會(huì)活動(dòng)的玩具兵。

5.suitable adj.合適的，適當(dāng)?shù)?，適宜的，恰當(dāng)?shù)摹?/p>

She had no other dress suitable for the occasion

她沒有其他適合這種場合穿的套裙。

6.bearable adj.可忍受的，可容忍的;忍得住。

A cool breeze made the heat pleasantly bearable.

一陣涼風(fēng)吹來，讓炎熱的天氣變得稍微舒適了一些。

7.saleable

adj.適于銷售的。

The design of saleable garments. Producing these garments in bulk.

設(shè)計(jì)有銷路的服裝。大批量生產(chǎn)這些服裝。

8.washable

adj.可洗的，耐洗的;（織物上的油漆、墨水等）可洗掉的。

n.可洗的布料（或衣服）。

All covers and textiles are removable and washable.

太陽傘蓋和布料可移動(dòng)耐洗的。

9.probable 可能的；

It is very probable that he will return today.

他今天很可能會(huì)回來。

10.possible 可能的；

I'll do everything possible to help you.

我會(huì)盡一切可能幫助你。
